Yesterday I made a pot of Santa Fe Chipotle soup to take to the quarterly potluck for the historical society. It seems like hardly a dent was made in that soup, but the people who tried it loved it. I put some in a smaller pot and spiced it up a little more with some cayenne pepper for John. He was Mmmm-ing over it, and he hardly ever does that. I now have 4 Gladware bowls full of soup in the freezer, along with more than a dozen squares of cornbread. I will take one bowl and some cornbread to the pastor to enjoy, the rest we will have for lunches over the next month.
My sister said I should post the recipe, but it was mostly from a mix. One of our grocery stores here has this Bear Creek soup mix. It was on sale this past week so I bought a couple of them. I then added hamburger, frozen corn, a can of diced tomatoes and a can of tomato soup (I didn't think the base was tomatoey enough for a southwestern soup). I sprinkled the top of the water with garlic powder and season salt (Thanks Mom for teaching me that trick). On the spicier pot, I sprinkled the top of the water with cayenne pepper.
One of my cats found the clear plastic cap to a syrup bottle and is batting it around the floor. She's having a blast with it. I'm not sure if it's because of the noise it makes, or if it's because she can get it in her mouth and carry it around like a mouse after she "catches" it. It is cute to watch, though.
I need to get off to Sunday school and church, but before I go, here is this week's Bible reading:
Mon, 2/21 - Numbers 15-17
Tues, 2/22 - Numbers 18-20
Wed, 2/23 - Numbers 21-24
Thur, 2/24 - Numbers 25-27
Fri, 2/25 - Numbers 28-30
Sat, 2/26 - Numbers 31-33
Sun, 2/27 - Numbers 34-36
Have a blessed day, all.

Hi, I stumbled upon your blog. It caught my eye because my MIL is a breast cancer survivor. I went back to the beginning and read it through. (Okay, I skimmed over some of it.) It's been such a blessing to me to see how God has worked in your life!
